Fake players on All-Time Ranks

Hey SiL3nt,

I've been looking through the ranks of our clan and I've found there to be numerous fake players or known trollers. Is it possible to just take down IP's of known players on the clans so we don't have trollers on the all-time ranks?

Hey!

The way to go about this is to create a whitelist. A whitelist is a list that is read by the server and includes all the actual names of the players in your clan (wearing the vM tag) and automatically kicks any players trying to connect with that tag but with an unknown name. Riko created one and posted it in a thread earlier, so the whitelist will be updated to the server by the weekend.

This, however, doesn't get rid of the already existing clan-tag abusers that are on the ladder. For that I will need you to provide me with a list of the players you want me to delete.

Finally, a downside with using a whitelist is that you can't use any alternative names while wearing the tag. For instance, you will be stuck with the name Skrillex if you want to wear the tag. If you guys are okay with this however, I will upload the whitelist.

If you have new members, you will have to inform me and I will add them to the whitelist.

Alternatively, if you upload the whitelist as a text file, I can set the server to automatically fetch the whitelist from the text file on a regular basis. This would enable you to make changes to it that are directly put into effect by the server.

Alright, I will wait until you guys give the go-ahead before I upload the whitelist.
