Transferring points is like saying "I want to stop using my old nickname, so please put the scores to the nickname I intend to use".

After that, you are free to do whatever you want with the old nickname, but you obviously can't transfer points from it again.

For that reason, the old nickname is still one that has been played on and should keep its record, just that you have officially moved on from it.
